I can't believe it is Saturday night already! Aaron's quad-riding weekend went by fast! The boys have been doing great, but I know they will be super excited to see him when he gets home tomorrow. Unfortunately they won't get his undivided attention because he has "a very important draft" for Fantasy Hockey and he also plans on getting my car extra pretty because someone wants to look at it. I'm sure the boys will manage though...
Mom and I did end up making the drive down to Birch Run and back today and picked up a few fun things... winter gear for the boys (snowpants, boots, hats, gloves), jammies and some pants for Brody from Carters - things that are hard to find around here. We also ate lunch and dinner out and I'm proud to say that the boys really did well considering I put them through about 6hrs in the car, couple hours of shopping and about 2hrs of sitting in restaurants! They are such troopers :) Of course, snacks and portable dvd players help.
The ride home was crazy because there were deer everywhere! I was driving extra vigilantly in hopes to avoid any collisions. We were about 15 miles from home when what do we see/nearly hit? The biggest bear ever. I've seen a live bear before like 10 years ago while driving in the UP. I also saw several pictures of a captured bear that was caught and transferred out of the city when I worked at GRPD. Those bears were TINY compared to this monster! This bear reminded me more of the giant grizzlies you see on tv in Alaska - it must have been like 600lbs. It was huge and crossing the road, I can only imagine that hitting this thing would be like hitting a tree! The boys were totally unfazed, Brody slept through my abrupt braking and Jacob was a little too interested in Cars to be bothered. Mom and I, on the other hand, are completely disturbed! All this time we've been worrying about hitting deer when these massive beasts are out there crossing roads everywhere?! And, they are way harder to see because of their dark fur! Crazy.

Wow, crazy! I wish you had a picture! My cousin was driving at night one time & hit something, that he thought was a bear, in the middle of the road. It turns out it was a black, runaway cow!!!
Anyway, I'm glad everyone is ok and relatively un-fazed!
Ahh! So scary!!
Cool!! I bear! I wish you had a camera too. Kinda scary!!! I am going to Birch Run in Oct. I can't wait!! :)
