Three IS rough.

Everyone warned me that three is worse than two and I officially know what they are talking about. Jacob is going through a very difficult phase right now :sigh:. Here is a little example:

Yesterday we left to meet Mark, Lisa and family for lunch. Aaron is working this weekend, but walked up to the car to say goodbye as we were leaving. Jacob gave Aaron his sunglasses to take, so Aaron took them (it was very cloudy... and cold!). We drive 20 feet away and Jacob begins crying and screaming that he wants his sunglasses. No problem, I throw the car in reverse and we get the glasses back from dad. Crisis averted. Or so I thought. Two minutes down the road Jacob begins having a major tantrum wanting to give the sunglasses back to dad. This time I was not going back. Jacob cried the entire 20 minutes to lunch over stinkin' sunglasses! Sheesh!

And this is just a taste of my day. It seems to be one tantrum after another. I cannot wait for this to pass and I'm already exhausted thinking about Brody going through it since Brody is way more dramatic than Jacob is... Aaron and I are trying our best to stay firm and keep up with time outs, killing him with kindness, etc, but boy it's hard! My parents took him on Weds and Thurs night last week to give us a break and while it was nice, we still missed him like crazy! Roxy seemed especially concerned too, which was funny. Brody, on the other hand, seemed to thoroughly enjoy every minute of being an only child and not fighting over toys!

This weekend has been pretty quiet. It's cold and cloudy - just the way Aaron likes it when he has to work! On Thursday we will be packing up the pop-up and heading downstate to camp at Six Lakes with Aunt Betty Ann, Jeanine and family. The location is super nice for the kids since there is a pool, playground, pontoon, lake, fishing, etc. And I'm sure they will love playing with their cousins. We will come home on Saturday and then go spend some time on the parents boat since it is going in the water pretty soon here!

Oh and something adorable (to me anyway). When Brody wants to go outside or bye-bye he has just started getting his own shoes and trying to put them on! It's so sweet and crazy how he can find his own shoes... I can't even tell them apart from Jacobs!
