Rough Start

Today is our first full day without Aaron and so far we are off on a rough start. It started at 6:16 this morning when my little Jacob woke up crying. He usually wakes up saying "Mom? Dad?" around 8:30-9:00, so I figured he had a bad dream or something to wake up crying so early. Aaron was getting ready at the time, but I thought if I got him and brought him to bed with me, he might fall back asleep. So that is what I did, and that is what he did (around 7:30). It worked out ok, except for when I started nursing Brody, Jacob insisted on laying BETWEEN Brody and me. We finally found a happy compromise with Jacob laying across the pillows. Fast forward to the usual wake up time - 9am. Both boys are up and happy, and I've got a terrible headache. I try to change Jacob's diaper first, but he is fighting me too much, so I go for Brody. I'm about to place his new clean diaper on his bottom when he poo's on the bed. Guess Brody thought it was time to wash the sheets again. So I slide him over and try to clean up the poo when Brody thought there was a nearby fire he should help put out and started spraying everywhere. I tilted his body so the forceful stream didn't hit any of us and let him finish. Then while I was drying up any little drops that landed on his body, he pooped again. I mean, if you are going to wash the sheets, you might as well make it worth it, right? Geez. Poor Jacob just sat there staring in awe going "Wow! Uh oh!"

So now everyone is clean, dry, fed and happy. Can't be that bad of a morning though... I still found time to blog! Mom is coming over around 11-ish to help out and then we have a 4pm appt with the lactation consultant to check on Brody's weight.
