Life at the Hatchery

After a brief spring break hiatus, it's kindergym time. Unfortunately this outing did not go as well as Wednesdays. It started out with being a half hour late (for an hour long event, whoops!). But hey, I've got a 3wk old, I was thinking that we were doing pretty good just making it out of the house at all. Until SHE had to show me up. It's the uber mom. You know the one... all skinny, kids always clean and well behaved. She was there with her two year old girl and newborn, making it all look effortless. She had her baby wrapped up in this extravagant sling that looked like 100 yards of sheets cocooned around her body. I can't imagine how she got INTO that thing, let alone out of it. I pictured her driving home with the baby still strapped to her chest. Of course, her baby slept the whole time. Not that Jacob or Brody were bad... Jacob just didn't care to participate in the group activities this time, which was fine by me because I couldn't do it while holding Brody anyways. Oh, and he tried to escape 3 times.

It wasn't a total loss though, Jacob did get invited to a birthday party! I would like to go because I really like this little boy's mom and I think she is someone I could be friends with (unlike ubermom), but she scheduled the darn thing for 2pm (nap time) and I think it's going to be a pain getting Aaron to go. We'll see...

On our way home we stopped by a park close to our house. I was completely bummed though when I realized they are removing all the playground equipment! I couldn't find any signs explaining what they are doing, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they are just replacing the equipment! What a bummer...
