Warning: Keep your butter out of Brody's reach.
Austin is one month old already! We had his well child visit today and here are his stats:
Weight: 11lbs 12oz - 90th percentile
Height: 21 7/8" - 75th percentile
Head: 39cm - 75th percentile
The doctor thought he looked a bit jaundiced, but nothing too concerning for a breastfed baby. If he still looks yellow at next months appointment, then we'll check his bilirubin count. He had a little foreskin adhesion that required some work on the doctors part that was not fun for anyone. I did have to chuckle though at the penis drawings the doctor made on the table paper to illustrate the problem to me and what the nurse must have thought when she came to clean up the room. Austin received his second Hep B shot and we were on our way.
Things continue to go really well here. I think Austin is a fussier baby then the other two, but it's nothing unusual for a baby... we just got lucky with the other two ;) His fussy periods seem to fall sometime between 9pm and 1am and more recently 5am and 8am. I think its safe to say now that he is NOT a spitter - thankfully Jacob is the only one that suffered from acid reflux. He likes to be held or carried in the bjorn or the moby. (The moby is a new wrap that I just purchased and really like, except for the fact that it is this huge piece of fabric and I don't know how I would put it on if I were in a store or something without some of the fabric touching the floor and getting dirty.) Austin is also a huge fan of bath time and it seems to help calm him down when he is going through his fussy periods. He's pretty indifferent to pacifiers and swaddling so far.
I'm doing good, too. Still can't fit into my pre-pregnancy pants despite the weight loss, but oh well... I kinda like my maternity pants anyway! Life with three has been way easier than the transition to two - you are right, Julie! (But I'll take your word for it with #'s 4, 5 and 6!) My hormones and emotions seem better than I remember with the other two and I'm thankful for that... especially since I have a winter baby and it's harder to get out of the house to do things. We are going to start preparing Jacob & Brody's room so I am looking forward to that!
Jacob is doing a lot better now. He really seems to love school and now I'm wishing I would have put him in twice a week instead of once! I'm scheduled to be the classroom helper in mid-March so I am looking forward to checking things out better then.
Brody is as animated as ever. He is so darn lovable and aggressive, all at the same time. His birthday may not be for another two months, but we are well into the terrible two's. Brody throws Oscar worthy tantrum performances. After they pass, I'm not sure if I should cry or clap! We had a huge potty training moment this weekend: Twice Brody told me he had to go potty and grabbed onto his diaper! And when I took him, he actually went! He is very stubborn though and will only sit on the potty when he feels like it, regardless if he has to go or not. We'll keep following his lead and maybe by the end of summer we will only have one in diapers!
Next weekend Charissa and family will be coming up to Traverse City and we'll join them for the night at Great Wolf Lodge! Can't wait!

Great to get an update! I've been meaning to write you and have only made it this far...
Soglad all is going well :-) I was LOL about the tantrums! Steph was our queen of that. They do get over it, thankfully. And I can't believe he's already a month old! Do the days go by faster lately for you? They are flying by for me. I cannot keep up!
Anyway, love the pics as usual (that grin on Brody...love it!) so keep them coming! Oh and btw, WOW - all your pgcy wt, already? I'm jealous!!
I love reading your latest bit of news everytime. Cute video too. Austin is really growing. Jacob must feel very proud being #1 son.
So Brody has already hit the slopes. Cute. Aunt Sharon
