I knew we had it easy with Jacob. Friday night Brody learned how to climb out of the crib, something we never experienced with Jacob. The strangest thing about it was how quiet and ninja-like he was, especially coming from his loud, "bull in a china shop" demeanor. It wasn't as though he fell out, he sneaks out very cautiously and skillfully as though he's known how to do it awhile and just now got caught. The other interesting thing is how he knows its wrong. Once he escaped the crib, he stealthy walked around the house like a criminal, peering around corners and hiding if he saw us. Can you say trouble?!?! So, yeah, those bunk beds can't come soon enough! In the meantime, we converted Brody's crib into a toddler bed and put a gate up at his door. He climbed the gate numerous times on Friday, but since then he has stayed in his room... for the beginning of the night anyway. Last night he eventually landed in our bed around 3am.
The boys colds are mostly gone now. On Wednesday evening Brody woke up hourly (even with Motrin), so I suspected something beside the cold was bothering him. The pediatrician confirmed he had his first ear infection. I received the Mean Parent Award when I asked if Brody could receive a shot in lieu of oral antibiotics. It's not just that its a pain to give him medicine, but I also fear he doesn't ingest enough of it because he is so good at spitting it back out. The doctor said one shot usually doesn't cover it, so we did one shot and 7 days of oral antibiotics/once a day and I'm happy to say he has gotten much better about taking medicine! I guess he learns quick ;)....
What else? Mark, Lisa and the boys came over to hang out on Saturday and we all had a good time. It was fun to watch Jacob and Noah start to scheme together. I am also thrilled to say that Brody was MUCH nicer to Mason then he was at Christmas, hopefully we are past that mean, biting stage.
Austin is doing good, but his sleep habits suck. Some nights he goes to bed at 10pm, some nights at 2:30am. Sometimes he wakes up at 12noon, sometimes at 5:30am. Even on his good nights, I still can't fully enjoy them because I'm lying there with one eye staring at him wondering when he is going to wake up again. Good thing he is so darn cute!! His next well child is next Tuesday - I can't believe he's been around for two months!
Jacob is doing really good too. He has become really good at dressing himself - socks included and putting on his snow clothes. He is also getting better at washing his hands after using the potty, thanks to some Easter candy rewards ;) He still loves school and his teacher says that he is doing great. His favorite thing to do right now is play Wii Sports Resort, specifically the game where he is driving an airplane.

Danielle - I am trying to picture Brody sneaking around the house! I Just can't believe you have your own little .007!
BTW - G now has an even better reason to like Martin Truex Jr. ever since he saw him at one of the races saying how he was an Eagles fan! :) LOL!
That is hillarious about Brody and his sneakiness! I bet if you could get it on video it would be worth a Grand Prize on AFV! LOL We are dealign with ear infections too! One was up one night, the other was up the next...made for 2 separate doc visits! Fun times, eh!
