Jacob has been cracking me up lately. The first funny story I have is about breastfeeding. Even though Jacob and Brody were both breastfed about a year, Jacob doesn't have much recollection of it and was quite surprised the first time he saw me feed Austin. He asked me what Austin was doing and I informed him he was eating and that was how he drinks mommy's milk. He then replied "And you have another one! What do you have in that one?" I told him the right one had juice in it ;)
My other funny story is that Austin has already started the brotherly rivalries off. He peed on Jacob. I was changing Austin when we had a typical encounter of random spraying (gotta love those newborn boys...) as I was reaching for cover, Jacob was hit with enemy fire. Poor innocent bystander was pretty far away too but still within Austin's reach. I tried to explain to Austin that BRODY is the one you are going to battle with, most likely Jacob will be his little protector. The good news is that Jacob thought it was hilarious ;)
My last Jacob story... Aaron recently made the mistake of telling Jacob that he needs to eat all of his food at meal time so that he can grow big and strong. The result? After every meal and snack Jacob says "See how big I am?" and insists that we check to see if he has grown. Unfortunately it has not improved his eating habits much, but it makes me smile every time he does it.
And then for a final Jacob update, Jacob will be starting a new preschool next week. We received a call from the school that I wanted him to be in this year that they had an opening and Jacob's name was first on the list. While I originally was going to keep Jacob out of school this winter for a few reasons (less exposure to cold/flu for the new baby, less travel on bad roads, etc) we decided to put him in the Friday morning class because it will hopefully solidify his spot in their 4 year old program for next year. The enrollment is based on membership status with current members taking priority, then previous members, then new members. I'm slightly worried about all the changes for my little guy with new baby, new school, new teacher, new friends but I'm hoping for the best.

Brecken asks us after every meal and snack to see if his belly is big- he's the smallest kid ever but he sticks his belly out as far as he can. It's pretty funny.
Hopefully the transition to the new school goes well!
