First Day of School!

The boys started school on Wednesday this year, which was great because it gave us extra time to prepare after Labor Day Weekend.   We didn't end up camping this year, but the extra day was still nice!  We did go over to the parents house for a day to swim at the beach and enjoy the people watching that Elk Rapids has to offer and then on Sunday we went to Amber's house for a bbq.   That was a little too eventful and turned scary when the deep fryer exploded in Amber's face sending her to the hospital.  Amazingly, her burns were minor (though very painful) and she is almost back to normal at this point (3wks later).  Monday we enjoyed a birthday party for Cher'rie and then Tuesday we had the school open house where Brody got reacquainted with Mrs. Roper and Jacob met Mr. Milne for the first time!  So far 3rd Grade has been a little demanding and challenging, but Jacob seems up to the task and has been doing well.  Brody is also off to a great start so far.  Austin starts October 1st!

A picture is worth a thousand words... and this one sums up things perfectly.  Brody could not contain his excitement, meanwhile Jacob would be perfectly fine starting school January 1st.  Of 2020.
