Last Thursday was a beautiful fall day so my book club girls and I decided to take a walk up to Empire Bluffs to catch the sunset. Shortly after we got to the overlook, a couple about 3-5minutes behind us said they encountered a bear on the trail and had pictures of it! I was hoping to see a deer, but was not expecting to encounter a bear! We enjoyed an awesome sunset and got carried away in conversation and next thing you knew we were the last to leave. It was still light out at the overlook but once we stepped into the woods it was DARK. And we were all ALONE! Needless to say the walk back to the car was a little brisk. We did end up seeing a deer, but it wasn't until we were in the car driving towards Empire where we stopped at Friendly's for some food.
