The ride home always sucks, doesn't it?

I'm not even home from my vacation yet and I feel as though I need a vacation! You know, the kind that involves lots of cocktails, staying up late and most importantly - sleeping in! It's 5:54am, I'm in a hotel in Lansing and have been up for over an hour. I went to bed at 12:30 and fed a cute little baby around 2am and again around 4:45 and have been trying to get a burp out of the restless little guy ever since. He's been sleeping great at home, but half way through our trip he realized that if he stirs a bit during the night it's midnight buffet time! (Since Austin, Jacob and I shared a room I didn't want him to wake up Jacob).

The dreaded drive home... where do I begin. Should I mention the floods? Scary thunderstorms? Maybe the tantrum Jacob threw in the middle of Walmart where he laid down on the floor in the middle of the store? Oh, there was also some vomiting and a fire in my car while I'm driving down the highway at 70+mph. And there were tears. The kids even cried a little, too. And we aren't even home yet! I'll be visiting Charissa and the new baby in a few hours and then we have just 3hrs remaining (without any stops... we'll see how that goes). Austin has a 4 month old well child visit at 2:45pm, so we will probably just drive straight there. Guess I'll go start my shower.

Sorry Girl but you do sound like super MOM :0) I'd love to have those cocktails with you! Can't wait to hear about the "good" part of your trip, hope you enjoyed the new baby!

Hope you survived the trip home! I always wish there was a post-vacation planned too.
