Jacob's Award from school & More storm pics

After having a snow day last week Wednesday, Jacob's Character Cafe took place this Wednesday.  Thank goodness because school was already cancelled from the storm & power outages on Monday and Tuesday and next week we'll be in Florida, so we're glad it worked out to attend today!  We went in and had breakfast with Jacob and a student from each class that has shown "Caring" traits.  Jacobs received a personal thank you and handshake from the principal and his award written by his teacher said:

You can see Jacob's caring nature in the quiet way he helps others and the kindness he shows each day.

Way to go Jacob!

Pictures are all scrambled, but here goes...
These were taken today on the 5 mile drive to school.  About half the teachers are still without electricity, with estimates that they will be back up by this weekend.  We have a live wire down across the street to the hatchery (touching the ground!), but other than that things have been going well here as far as electricity, internet and phone:

These trees are actually stretching an electrical line down.

Many of the wooded areas look like a tornado came through.  There is so much debris, branches and trees down in the forests and along the sides of the road.

The worst news is that the snow is melting at an incredibly fast rate, so many outdoor enthusiasts like snowmobilers and cross country skiers won't be able to take advantage.  Today the temp was 57 degrees around 1pm.  Aaron and I got a few runs in at Cyrstal Mountain after Jacob's Character Cafe and we are glad we did - it may have been our last time out for the season!  Who knows what will be left when we return from Florida.
