Last night we went to Betsie Bay Coop Preschool to register Jacob for the 09-10 School year. The school is located 20 minutes away in Frankfort, which wasn't my first choice (because I would rather drive 30 minutes away and at least have things to do... there isn't much going on in Frankfort), but I went back and forth trying to decide if I should put Jacob in this year and well, by the time I figured out I DID want him in, he is now 8th and 9th on the waiting lists. But no problems at all getting into Betsie Bay... he'll be one of 5 kids there, a BIG 3yr old class for them this year ;) I was super proud of Jacob, we dropped him off at the classroom with the teacher and he went right in and played while we went into another room to fill out paperwork. He didn't seem afraid at all! And then after Brody got a little antsy, Aaron and Brody joined Jacob in the classroom and he still didn't cling to dad or anything, he just kept playing. I was a little surprised to find that Aaron was the only dad that came though. And I get the feeling dads don't come much at all because the teacher seemed a little uncomfortable around him. Strange...
Anyways, I think it will be a good experience for him though. On our way home I asked Jacob what he thought of his new school and he replied "It's perfect!". Oh and I learned something new about Brody while we were there too. He loves dinosaurs. Jacob has never really been interested so we don't have any at home and come to think of it, none of our friends kids really play with them either. There was a large bin of them at the preschool, however, and Brody would pick up one in each hand and hold them up to you going "Raaaarrrrr!", I cracked up!
So, we have one more little "get to know the teacher" event on Sept 10 and then school will begin in late September. My little boy is growing up!
And in other news, my brother is visiting this week from Utah! We'll be spending a lot of time at my parents the next few days visiting with him!

Aw this makes me sad, he IS growing up. How many days a week/hours a day? Hopefully this will be a big help to you as you learn to juggle three. Congrats Jacob! Have fun with Tom!

Sounds like you've got a great school (but odd that dads aren't involved - I would say I had at least half of my kids' dads at my meet-the-teacher night!)
Aww, love the tum pic...give it a pat for me :-) Hoping Tom had a good rest of his visit. I'm so glad he goes back once in a while. It's probably good for him. I bet you all are having fun on the water this weekend, enjoy!
