Fun Weekend

We (I) had a very adult weekend, for a change! We started out on Friday getting pictures taken for holiday cards (and just in general), the boys did as good as expected and the photos turned out pretty well. I'll scan them next week when we get them back. Ok, so that wasn't very adult oriented, but AFTER the photos we went out on a triple date with Kyra & Dennis and Danielle & Adam to celebrate Dennis' birthday. We had a great time and definitely hope to do that more often! Mom watched the boys for us while we were out and afterwards we stayed the night there. Saturday, I met up with some friends that all belong to a message board together. One of them I had met a couple times before, but not the other two (Their blogs are listed on the left). Oddly enough, it didn't even feel strange meeting them... the internet sure makes the world a small place! We ate lunch downtown and then heading to the casino. I had not been there in YEARS and boy, has it changed! It seems to have more slots and less tables now, but it is really pretty. I lost my a** in blackjack within about 20 minutes, but lucky enough for me they were having a Ladies night promotion thing and had tables set up to play without money (to learn), so we were able to play a little blackjack and Hold 'em even after the money had run out. We almost played in a ladies only Hold 'em tournament with a $10 buy in to win cash and handbags (Kim and Peg would have been so proud), but we didn't since I didn't have my visor with me :) Well, that and I already lost all my cash in blackjack. So we headed back to Sarah's cabin (aka - vacation home on crystal lake) for pizza, drinks and games. We had a blast and it was great to be away from the kids for a night.

Aaron's night didn't go as well. Brody kept him up just about all night wondering where the heck his mom went and WHY is his dad trying to give him cold, plastic, nastiness. Looks like someone earned some free "go snowboarding" passes...

In other news, Jacob has been totally silly lately. He insists on calling me "Hon" or "Honey" (probably because that is what Aaron calls me and that is what I call Aaron AND Jacob). His new favorite thing is to build "fires" by putting everything except the kitchen sink in a big pile in the living room (or bedroom or hall or kitchen or bathroom) and then he rubs his hands over it and says "ooooh, hot!". (Yes, Aaron frequently builds fires outside when they play in the snow).

Guess that is about it for now... Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! I'll be taking the boys to mom & Bruce's and Aaron will meet up with us after work (Yay holiday pay!).

Danielle, nice on almost playing poker!! From more than $2, in a real game! The Jacob stories are awesome.

Happy Thanksgiving, Hon! :)
