Feeling Better

Thanks everyone for their nice words and offers! Kim, it's a good thing you don't live closer because you might have caught me in a weak moment!! **Only kidding Jacob and Brody!** Anyways, things are going better now. Brody and I got out of the house alone and met mom and a friend for dinner and a little retail therapy on Tuesday evening and then yesterday mom came over to help out so I could get the announcements out. Aaron has today off and joined us for Kindergym for the first time. Unfortunately, he did not get to experience "super mom". Aaron definitely agrees with me though, that Jacob is ready for the next class. So I might try the step up next week, but I hate being "that mom" that thinks her kid is more advanced and ready to move on before he meets the age requirement - oh well.

So potty training is going nowhere. Jacob LOVES wearing underpants, hates diapers and doesn't seem to mind wet clothes. I think he WANTS to be potty trained, I just don't think he is able to tell when he has to go yet. It's not all bad news though, transitioning to the big boy bed is going pretty well. Since Brody came home, the regular bedtime routine hasn't been going well (ie - crying when we put him down and waking up in the middle of the night), so I figured it's as good as time as any to make the switch since he will be crying it out either way. It's been two days and so far, so good. The first day he cried for about 45minutes at the gate we placed in his doorway and when the crying stopped I thought I might find him asleep on the floor beside the gate, but nope, he had crawled into bed and had the covers pulled up and his little head on the pillow. Since then his crying periods have gotten shorter and shorter and he no longer cries at the gate, he stays in bed and cries, so I think it is good progress!

On Monday we took Brody to the doctor where they confirmed his rash was just baby acne. Poor guy! Luckily, it has been improving quite a bit. Hope it completely goes away soon. Brody weighed in at a whopping 13lbs 2oz (at 1 month 2 days!) which puts him off the charts as far as percentiles are concerned. We return with our chunky monkey at the end of the month to do his well baby visit.
