Leaps and Bounds...

Happy Easter everyone! We had a great day and really enjoyed the time we spent with family this weekend. Church went pretty well also, although Jacob is getting pretty ridiculous with the whole breastfeeding thing. He was pulling my hair, pinching me, slapping my chest. Aaron said "He's done". Right now I'm down to just breastfeeding in morning and evening, but I was hoping to keep Jacob quiet a bit during church, which he DID quiet down, but I think he was still very distracting! Anyhow, hope everyone else had a great day as well. I forgot our camera, but we took a few with my mom's camera, I'll try to add her photos later.

Well, Jacob has really grown by leaps and bounds lately. I really feel like I have a toddler now and not a baby. Since we returned from Florida on March 23rd, Jacob has cut both of his top front teeth and is now WALKING! He started taking several unassisted steps last Sunday and by this Sunday... uh, yeah, he's walking. It's the cutest thing to see, since he is just so short and small. And he walks like a zombie or someone who is sleepwalking, with his arms straight out in front of him. He also walks kinda silly, like he is a drunken sailor. I'm trying to download it so I can put a little video on here, but I'm having problems, so I will keep working on that. In a couple of years, Jacob will be able to show me how to do stuff like that, but in the meantime I am on my own!

In other news, the weather sucks. We have had major snowy/windy/blizzardy/icy conditions since Wednesday. It's such wasted snow too, since all the area ski resorts have closed :( I have seen a few sleds (snowmobiles) out, so at least a few people can take advantage. Let's just hope it doesn't do too much harm to the cherry crops up here, those cherries are important to this area!

I'm so glad people are commenting more. It's making this blogging thing so much more fun! And, I'm super excited that my cousin Julie started her own blog, check it out at www.julie-fiveisenough.blogspot.com (hope you don't mind me posting that, Julie!). I highly encourage anyone else that is thinking about it to try it out! It's been fun and like my cousin Jeanine says, it's kind of therapeutic!

Oh and a BIG congrats to Shannon and Joe who are expecting their first child together November 3rd, just one day before Shannon's birthday! They are going to make us wait until then to find out if it's a boy or girl, but my money is on a BOY! Congrats guys, you two are going to be GREAT parents!

So, since I don't have any pictures from our Easter, here are some from last week of Aaron and Jacob on the Quad. Of course, Jacob loved it, although he looked pretty grumpy for the camera.
Also, here are a few of Jacob and Noah together. Noah is 3.5months in these photos, Jacob is 10 months.

Jacob's First Easter!

Hi Everyone,

Here are some cute pictures I took of Jacob, which will also work out great as blackmail when he is a mouthy teenager.

In other news, Jacob's other top tooth is about to break through, so he is almost up to 4 teeth! We've been taking advantage of the warmer days and going on lots of walks. The steelhead are running, so it's been fun to watch them jump the weir.

I'm loving the comments, although after the bbs comments that I read and heard over the phone, looks like I better edit my photos better before I post! Ha ha ha... gotta love what breastfeeding does to the body, although we are weaning now, so here comes that lovely saggy look I've been dying for all my life!

Anyways, hope you all have a great Easter!

**Aaron's Disclaimer: I had nothing to do with these photos and I would like it known that I was adamantly against taking them.**

Also...

I forgot to mention a few things in my previous post. Jacob started doing a few more things for the first time while on vacation. He now can shake his head "No" when he does NOT want something and he also started backing up to get down from high places, like the bed or couch. Also, one of Jacob's top teeth finally broke through today (that one has been causing some pain, poor guy!) and he has been brave enough to occasionally take a few steps on his own... he'll be walking in no time! Lot's of developments for our little one! Here are a few more photos:

I LOVE vacation!!

Well, our vacation went GREAT! Jacob did so well for all of it, including the flight. In fact, he liked the flight a little too much... makes me concerned that he might be a little too crazy as a teenager. The kid either looked out the window or slept and never shed ONE tear. He did a few high pitched, excited screeches, which I'm sure the fellow passengers enjoyed, but hey, it's better than tears!

The weather was very windy and partly cloudy during the whole visit, but that was ok because it kept us from getting too hot or too much sun exposure. Jacob LOVED going for stroller rides and he also enjoyed the pool a lot. He does NOT like sunscreen or sunglasses. I think what Jacob liked most about vacation was sleeping right between mom and dad and getting a 'snack' whenever he felt the urge. Usually, Jacob sleeps through the night and if he does happen to cry, we let him cry and fall back asleep. But while on vacation, we didn't want our neighbors to have to listen to a baby cry during the middle of the night, so on night 2 Jacob figured out that if he cries on vacation, Mom and Dad will get him and he can snack ALL NIGHT LONG. So, it wasn't too 'restful' of a vacation for me, but hey, I wasn't at work so I can't complain :) Last night was our first night back and Jacob had a very rude awakening, poor guy. I slept GREAT though :) We also had some fabulous meals and for the most part, Jacob was very content and is eating more and more 'real' food.
So now we are back and ready for a warm spring! Here are some pictures from our trip...
Here is one from the plane trip there:
And then the plane trip back:
Here are a few family pictures (Jacob must have been checking out some hot chicks and too busy to smile for the camera):
Jacob wasn't too sure about this Pelican and Dad was a little irritated that I made him pose next to a giant blue pelican:
And then some beach and pool pictures:
Oops, he got a little too excited and fell over!!
I love how you can barely see his little hat over his raft in this one... I swear his face was above water, really...
Thanks for looking!

Darn flight was cancelled

Well, we got all packed and piled in the car to make our way to the airport when I received a call on my cell that our flight was cancelled due to airplane maintenance and we would be put on the same flight 24hours later. I called to see if we could get on any earlier flights and learned that no flights could be scheduled to go into Detroit, due to the weather in the Northeast, so Aaron and I wonder if our flight was really cancelled due to 'airplane maintenance' or if they just cancelled it because of the Detroit mess. Who knows. All we got was a meal voucher (but we don't know where we can redeem it at) and a hotel voucher (which we definitely didn't need). So, we can pretty much sum it up as: SUCKY.

Our night wasn't a total bust though. We went to Olive Garden and asked if they took our 'meal vouchers' (didn't matter to us, we were going to eat there anyway) and they didn't, but felt bad about our cancelled flight and told us our meal was complimentary! Then we went to MC Sports and found an infant life jacket on sale! Since last summer we have been trying to find a nice infant life jacket, but Jacob freaked out in all of them. We were able to locate this neoprene one that appears to be more comfortable than the traditional jackets and when we tried it on Jacob in the store and he didn't cry, we knew we MUST buy it! So now we can all go out on the pontoon this summer with Kim and Peggy!!! It will be nice for the parents boat, too!

Here are some pictures of Jacob in his new PFD!

Jacob and Noah

Mark, Lisa and Noah came over and the babies did great! We played some cards and had a good time. Aaron was a trooper, staying up late with us even though he had to work the next day (and deal with losing an hour). Here are a few pics I took of the Jacob and Noah (3 Months) together.

Stick Figure Baby...

We had our 9 month check up today and learned that Jacob most resembles a stick figure. Jacob's stats are Height: 28inches, Weight: 18 3/4lbs. Which puts him at the 50th percentile for height, 10th percentile for weight and 90th percentile for head circumference (although they didn't tell us the exact head measurement). Who knew we had such a skinny baby with those chubby thighs? I know what you are thinking, he MUST take after his skinny daddy, but he actually is taking after me a bit (shocking, I know). Jacob and I had the EXACT same height and weight at birth (8lbs 8oz, 21.5inches) and I was quite a peanut at 9months, too... I was 28inches and weighed only 16lbs 8oz (Yikes!). We also learned that his ears are all clear for our flight next week and that his diaper rash is actually a yeast infection (which probably has to do with him being sick last week apparently), so we got some prescription cream to help clear that up, thank goodness!

Other than that, not too much is new. We are heading to West Palm Beach next Friday so that is pretty exciting. This past Wednesday was the first day that my mom watched both Jacob and his cousin, Noah, and I'm happy to say it was a success! My mom said that it's official: we can have another baby... Jacob did good sharing the attention. Yeah, we'll get working on that mom...
