Medical stuff... and other updates

Let's see in the past year or so I've...

*Given birth to a 9+lb baby

* Suffered from Migraines 4-5x/week for about 7 months after having said baby

* Dealt with Plantar Fasciitis, including super fun night brace that feels nothing like sleeping with a giant tree trunk. Really. Also, means buying super expensive shoes now!

* Had Echocardiogram to check out my heart and discover 3 areas of regurgitation. Thankfully, heart is functioning fine.

* Had wisdom teeth removed.

* Had suspicious mole removed from the crease of my knee and then had allergic reaction to cream we put on afterward resulting in extreme, ridiculous itchiness. (Thankfully, NOT cancerous)

* And now the next step will be to have surgery on my foot for bone spur!

It's been a fun year! It's not really like this all developed this year though, I've just been focusing on the baby/pregnancy/breastfeeding thing and now that we've closed that chapter I've moved on to taking care of myself. I have yet to meet with the orthopedic regarding my foot, so I'm not sure when we'll schedule the surgery. Hopefully sooner than later. The lazy part of me is excited for the excuse to not have to run (how sad is it that I'm looking forward to surgery so I have a guilt-free excuse to be lazy?) but the realistic part of me knows it is only going to make it harder to get back into it once I've got the green light :/ Oh well, I'll keep you all posted.

Jacob also had a doctor appointment today. He's been complaining that his ears are hurting and also has poor hearing lately. The doctor said one ear looks as though an infection is either just starting or just ending, but either way he wants to treat him for a sinus infection so we left with a script. Shockingly, Jacob has not been to the doctor for a sick visit since September 2009! I knew it had been awhile, but when the doctor looked it up I was surprised! Not bad considering he started preschool in September of '09. Hopefully he is feeling better soon and stops asking me "What did you say??", it's bad enough he asks a million questions right now, anyway!

Let's see, what else...

We're still having a blast skiing. Friday night we went out and the conditions were less than ideal... it was crazy! Sugar snow on top of ice and I had to work my butt off to stay in control! Biggest work out I've gotten from skiing yet! The night was still incredible though with the most amazing sunset and an even better moon! We finished off the night sharing a pizza and a drink in the vista listening to some band, which Aaron classified as "poor". This is my classifications of bands: Poor means I don't know the music. Good means I can sing along. I thought the band was good! Haha! I don't know if it's the alone time skiing together that is making such a difference or the fact that we are in agreement with finances now, but our relationship is in a great place right now.

To make up for the awful conditions on Friday, Lisa and I hit the slopes on Monday and had the best girls day! Conditions were awesome thanks to some snow on Sunday evening. Lisa is doing awesome, but I think I need to make sure she doesn't get out any more this season or else she is going to kick my arse out there and start lapping me!

I'm (probably) going to be on the preschool board next fall! Well, June actually. I'm the nominee for the Admissions position, so as long as the members don't reject me then I'm in! ;) I know a few of the other parents that will also be on the board and they seem really, really nice so I'm excited and looking forward to the adult interaction.

Austin is still not walking! He is definitely capable of it, but his brothers have shredded any piece of confidence he ever had and he just will.not.try. It'll come... until then, he's still my baby :)

Not too much is new with Brody... he's still the spirited redhead we love!

That's about all for now. We have some exciting things coming up... March 5th we are meeting the Shadduck family in Big Rapids for an overnight stay at a hotel. March 12th we are trying to plan an adults overnight at Crystal. March 19th we'll celebrate Brody's 3rd Birthday! And March 24th we'll leave for Florida!
