Team Blue x5!!!

It looks like another one for Team Blue!!! Mark and Lisa learned today that they need to throw out their list of little girl names and start coming up with some boy names! I'm shocked... what are the odds of another boy in this family?! Crazy, but very exciting! The baby looked great and weighed 12oz (the same as Brody at his big u/s!). We can't wait to meet our nephew this fall! Congrats Mark, Lisa and Noah!

2 Month Stats!

Brody had his two month well baby check up today. He now weighs 14lbs 10oz (99th percentile), 24.25 inches long (97th percentile) and has a head circumference of 16inches (80th percentile). He was such a good baby for the doctor and just cooed and smiled while the doctor examined him :) He received 4 vaccines today, 3 injections and 1 oral and they sure took their toll on him. Poor guy has been very sleepy (even more than usual!) and whiney since then.

In other news, Mark and Lisa find out if they are having a boy or girl tomorrow! We can't wait to find out if we finally have a girl joining this group of boys!

Here are a few pictures from last week. We went out to Platte Bay and had a great time. We saw lots of deer on the short trip including the smallest little fawn I've ever seen. We couldn't get great shots of it due to the lighting, but hopefully you can see him.

Memorial Weekend

Hope everyone had a good Memorial Weekend! Ours was pretty low-key, Aaron had to work Fire watch on Sunday and then normal hatchery work on Monday. Not very fun, but good $. Saturday was fun though, we went over to Mom's to have a little birthday celebration for Noelle's oldest daughter Anni (she turns 5). Jacob had a pretty good time and didn't want to leave... he decided it was time for his first coed sleepover... (Anni is on the right, Libby is on the left - she turns 3 in July).

And Brody did what he does best... sleep and grow!

Brody has his 2 month well baby check up tomorrow. I'll update with his stats when we return.

Jacob is two!!

Jacob at one day old...

Jacob at one year old...

Jacob at two years old... Jacob and all his silly faces...

Jacob and Brody...

We took Jacob miniature golfing on his birthday! He had a lot of fun and actually did pretty good! He always started off the hole where you were supposed to, but then he would run up to wherever his ball landed, pick it up and then place it near the hole to sink it in. So needless to say, Jacob shot a 2 on every hole! He also came close to a few hole-in-one's! I'm embarrassed to say, he did better than I did on most holes.

And here is a shot of all of my boys!!! I would caption this "Aaron has his hands full" but instead I will say I'VE got my hands full dealing with the three of them! What?! Is Brody actually awake in this photo?!

Jacob's Birthday Party!

First of all, Brody is doing much better! He is still very congested and coughing, but his mood has improved greatly. He also hasn't had a fever since Thursday - yeah! Oh, and he also weighed in at an even 14lbs at the doctors office last week - he was 7wks old exactly. Still a big guy, but his weight gain is slowing down thank goodness! Here are some pictures from Mothers Day:

Mothers Day went pretty good, except that we made the mistake of trying to go out to breakfast. Apparently every mom in northern Michigan wants to go out to breakfast for Mothers Day. We ended up just eating a bad meal at the mall. No worries though, we made up for it with a great dinner at my parents house.
On Saturday we had a birthday party for Jacob. It was a great time and thankfully the weather was fairly nice for us, although it could have been a little warmer. Here are some pictures...
Jacob enjoying some olives...
Noah and Jack playing with the fire coupe...
The Birthday cake... Jacob loves opening presents... Jack stands by in case he needs assistance!
He loves books...

He got some BIG gifts this year...

One of the big gifts was this power quad from Grandpa and Grandma that operates with the push of a button... He loved it until he realized that it operates with the push of a button, then he wasn't so sure.
But the other kids were excited about it...

Jacob received two wagons for his birthday, one from Nona and Grandpa and this one here from his cousins! (And their moms and dads!) It was a big hit, especially with crazy Uncle Mark driving. Notice how they are all holding on!Brody was such a good boy all day. He just hung out quietly and let Jacob get all the attention... such a sweetheart :)

Brody is sick :(

Brody was up every hour last night, sniffling, coughing and screaming in pain :( Our whole family is fighting a cold right now and unfortunately, my breastfed 7 week old wasn't able to avoid it. I thought they said breastfeeding was supposed to do something?! He also has a fever of 100.0 to 100.6. The doctor said his ears look clear and he is just fighting the cold, but to take him to the ER for blood culture draws, urinalysis and a spinal tap if he gets worse or the temp spikes higher. I *hate* these situations. It's like I don't feel like I can accurately make the right decision because I don't want him to go through all those tests because I'm neurotic but on the other hand I don't want to subconsciously ignore his symptoms because I'm scared to take him in. And Dr.Google just freaks me out because everything I read says how bad a fever is at this age.

Please send good thoughts and prayers that he gets better quickly!

My newest hobby

Brody enjoying the outdoors... This is Jacob...
And here is Brody! Aren't they cute!
Brody saying "Ta Daaaa, I'm asleep again!"

And Jacob waiting for Daddy to get home (wearing Dad's Reef.s)... Jacob looking innocent...
And Jacob looking not-so-innocent...

I have a new hobby (or addiction). It's saving money. At first I thought it was just a helpful little thing to use a coupon or two to save on things we regularly use now that I am a SAHM, but today I realized I think I'm addicted. I went to Tar.get today and got a great deal on diapers and wipes and you wouldn't believe how excited I was. The crazy thing? We didn't even need diapers. They were just on sale, so I got them - YIKES!! I mean, we will use them eventually, but still! I think I realized that my interest in this became more than just saving money when I found myself checking out the subscription price for the Sunday paper. I detest our local paper and how bias it is and yet, I actually want to get the paper for the coupons and ads! YES, I want to PAY $2-3 (however much it is?) in order to get what... the one or two $1? $2 off in coupons on products we actually use?! Oh goodness, I can't believe I actually enjoy this.

Speaking of saving money, the free $25 for Revolution.Money.Exchange is still available (I think they extended it to mid-June maybe?) Anyways, if you use the link on the left, then I get $10 and you get $25 (or $60 if you sign up your sig other too - separately) just for signing up (with no obligations for anything). It's legit and if you are interested I can give you more information and articles about the company itself. Or you can goog.le it.

So besides my obsession with coupon clipping and saving/making easy money, I took the boys to the park with mom and Noah today. Unfortunately, we were not alone. A two year old bully was there. It was the strangest thing, this kid would just come out of nowhere and attack Jacob and Noah, either by hitting them or pushing them to the ground. Poor Jacob and Noah were totally taken by surprise by this kid and neither one of them knew how to react at all. Mom and I did our best to avoid and get after the little sh*t, but I couldn't help but think "So this is what the kid that is going to break into my car in 12yrs looks like". Oh, and his mom was there too, but she was much too busy chain-smoking to supervise. Chain smoking. At a park. With kids. And babies. Oy!
